As he got older, his love became goats and his Great Pyrenees dogs. He loved to go to the horse sales with his brother Dennis. When he was younger and able to take care of them, he had several horses in his pasture and several that he rode. Gene also was a farmer, who enjoyed baling hay and running the balers.
Gene had worked doing road construction for many years until his retirement. Youngblood, two siblings that died at birth, half brother Charles Youngblood, half sister Geraldine Cunningham and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents, his brothers Marsh Youngblood, Perry Youngblood, Joe R.
Gene is survived by three sisters, Susan (Charles) Keele of Ravenna, OH Judy Matthews of Johnsonville, Illinois and Sally Riley of Johnsonville, Illinois two brothers, Junior (Cherie) Youngblood of Bluford, Illinois, and Dennis (Dianna) Youngblood of Keenes. He was born on Decemin Keenes (near Orchardville) at the old family homestead place to parents Rufus Alva and Cuba Altress (Rapp) Youngblood. Leslie Gene Youngblood, 83, a resident of Keenes, Illinois, passed away on Monday, Jat his home in Keenes.
